Youth Ministry

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

The Greater Joy Youth Ministry is a ministry on the MOVE! Our mission is to reach young people and teach them to become disciples through Spirit-filled and Bible-based worship and fellowship, and to be a example of the true light and real love called Jesus Christ through ministry and evangelism. Being a young person in today’s world is tougher than ever. It is important that we, at Greater Joy, groom our youth for the world and teach them what it means to be a “light” in some of the dark places they may encounter as they grow up. We use multiple methods to reach our young people through various activities that include classroom style teaching, workshops, music and dance, arts, small groups, and peer-lead discussions, just to name a few. We get down to the bare bones of topics that are troubling today’s youth and apply biblical teaching to real life scenarios. We take pride in our youth and believe in building up their character, confidence, and self esteem by publicly recognizing them at various times during the month at our Sunday worship services for all the great things they are doing in their schools and their local communities.

Our Children’s/Youth Church meet every Sunday; children and youth will be dismissed after alter call during Sunday worship services. All children/youth must be signed in prior to the start of service in order to attend children/youth church. Parents will be responsible for picking up their children at the conclusion of service. Children’s/Youth Bible Study takes place on the 2nd and 4th  Thursdays. Bible study is opened with prayer, afterward, all children/youth will be dismissed to their respective bible study teacher (according to grade level).

Our youth ministry is currently being re-vamped as we embark on a new and exciting journey with a brand new youth leadership team.  If you have any questions about our youth ministry, please feel free to reach out of our youth leaders. Our youth director is Deacon Erphara Kelly, ejk6875.ek@gmail.com, and our children’s director is Sis Camille Regge, camille.regge@yahoo.com.
